CHERYL BURKE Growing up in San Francisco, Cheryl came from a family who loved to dance. She began taking ballet lessons at four years old and performed throughout the Bay Area. At ten, she discovered the wonderful world of ballroom dancing, so Cheryl decided to hang up her ballet shoes and begin training in both Standard and Latin. By thirteen, she was competing and traveling all over the world.
A few of Cheryl’s many ballroom achievements include: 2005 World Cup Professional Rising Star Latin Champion, UK Championships, and 4th in the US in the Under 21s. Most of Cheryl’s recognition, however, derives from being crowned the two-time champion on the ABC hit series, “Dancing With The Stars”, where she created numerous show-stopping performances with partners( and co-winners) Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith. Cheryl recently has been touring around the country with “Dancing With The Stars – The Tour”.
Cheryl looks to continue her success this spring on season four of “Dancing With The Stars”. She is thankful for the many opportunities the show has brought her. Dancing will always play a part in Cheryl’s life, although she is looking to add a new chapter of acting/hosting in the film and television industry.
